Mumbo Jumbo Director - Alex Key

Born in England many many years ago, Alex has lived in Hong Kong for seven years. Educated in England at Chesterfield College of Art and Drama and in the U.S.A. at Seattle University and finally at Trinity Teaching College.
In this time, he completed a foundation course of Drama and performance art, a B.A. in Communications and a TEFL course.

As well as teaching, he has appeared in many productions on the stage including the lead role of ‘Charlie’ in the Roald Dahl classic ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. The highlight of his acting career coming in 2005 with a role in Hollywood movie ‘Ultraviolet’ with megastar ‘Milla Jovovich’. The movie wasn’t great but he enjoyed it.

He has taught in numerous educational facilities and was a NET for the Hong Kong government scheme.

Mumbo Jumbo Teacher - Tracy Lockwood

Tracy Lockwood has lived in Hong Kong for most of her adult life, and happily considers it her home.

She left England around 18 years ago after completing her studies in Management at Teeside University. After her examinations she decided to travel around the world for a couple of years, to broaden her horizons and learn about different cultures, before settling down to a professional career back in the UK.

However, her plans changed somewhat, as she immediately fell in love with Hong Kong during her brief visit in ’88. She eventually returned to England to study for her Teaching Diploma ‘TEFL’ which she gained in 1993.

She has worked in the HK Education System for the past 14 years, and is grateful to have had the opportunity to teach many different Asian nationalities who live in this International City.

Tracy says: “I’m very happy to have joined the ‘Mumbo Jumbo’ team as I believe that children are the way to a brighter future, and I am impressed with the emphasis placed on creative thinking and confidence building in the Art of Language in this Centre”. We are delighted to have her as part of our team!
